Bristol County Savings Bank Named A Top Charitable Contributor by Boston Business Journal
“Since our founding more the 175 years ago, we have operated as a community mutual bank with a focus on “people helping people.” This recognition by Boston Business Journal is additional validation that our efforts to support non-profit organizations in the neighborhoods we serve are making a difference,” said Patrick Murray, President & CEO of Bristol County Savings Bank and President of Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation. Murray added that the Foundation has committed more than $30 million to hundreds of different non-profit organizations since its inception in 1996.
“It is with honor that we present our list of the Top Charitable Contributors in Massachusetts who collectively gave $423 million in contributions – a true example of the business community coming together to help those in need,” said Carolyn Jones, Market President and Publisher at Boston Business Journal. “We are proud to celebrate these organizations who give both money and time to make Massachusetts a stronger and better place for all.”
The Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation’s purpose is to fund needs that contribute to the economic and the social well-being of the people and institutions located in the greater Taunton/Attleboro Region, the greater New Bedford/Dartmouth Region, the Fall River Region and the northern Rhode Island Region, with particular emphasis in the areas of education and literacy, economic development and housing for the low- to moderate-income population. In 2020, the Foundation added an additional area of focus supporting organizations that are on the frontlines of the pandemic or experiencing hardship as a result.
