Connecticut's Stunning Gardens

June 17, 2025

Connecticut boasts a rich history of beautiful and unique gardens. Join PRIME TIME™ on Tuesday, June 17 as we embark on a captivating tour of some of Connecticut’s most breathtaking historic, public and private gardens.

Our first stop is at the Elizabeth Park Rose Garden in Hartford, Connecticut. Known as the oldest municipal-operated rose garden in the country, this two-and-a half-acre garden is home to 15,000 rose bushes with 800 different varieties old and new. Next, we’ll meet Barbara Robinson, author and owner of Brush Hill Gardens. Barbara will take us on a tour of the stunning property that she and her husband have created over five decades. She’ll share the love story of how two people of very different temperaments and skills worked to create a place of great beauty. While they were busy creating this magical garden, the garden was working its magic on them.

After a picnic lunch at Brush Hill Gardens, we’ll make our way to Hollister House Garden, a classic English-style garden surrounding a quaint 18th century farmhouse. This extraordinarily beautiful New England Garden is made in the classic English style of a loosely formal structure informally planted. Following our visit to this hidden gem, we’ll make a stop at White Flower Farm, a shrine for American gardeners since 1950.

Relax and smell the flowers!
